Songs you hated growing up.....but grown to love..

Suppose it's quite common if them songs bring back good memories.
But there are a few that I have genuinely grown to love but actually hated them when I was growing up.
1. Sweet child of mine - guns & roses
2 sultans of swing - dire straights
3. On my own - michael Mcdonald/patti labelle
Think as you grow older you learn to appreciate the work that goes into certain songs and the talent that helped create them.

Since singing commercialised Lady in red hated Chris De Burgh now got a couple of his albums and some good stuff on there very intense lyrics.

The only one that springs to mind was the Stranglers 'Golden Brown' but I do still hate it, so probably none.

Just one song I truly hated with passion and that was Wannabe by the Spice girls but because of my daughters pathetic devotion to the Girl power cause, I do not mind it that much now.

Saw them by mistake in Spain. Looked really edgy in their bright pink, yellow and blue teddy boy suits and sporting comb-over DA's.
Pretty sad really, but I had a great laugh at them.

To be fair 'crocodile shoes' by jimmy nail is one of the best tunes ever committed to vinyl about footwear made of vicious big toothed reptiles ever made.
The only thing that gets near it for me is 'penguin loafers' by cliff richards, which he once sung acapella at wimbledon to an appreciative audience of 12 posh people pretending to watch tennis whilst gorging themselves on strawberries while tara palmer tonkinsons shrieked like an upper crust cocaine huffing pony in the under seating toilets
